HOBO KING by Ensemble Member Javon Johnson
(World Premiere: January 27th – March 5th 2017)
A homeless man is unjustly slain by city police. Enraged, the homeless community
attempts to govern themselves in order to protect themselves
from the existing government. The play is inspired by a true event.


August Wilson New Play Initiative Series
(Tentatively March 27th - April 9th Spring 2017)
Staged readings of plays submitted to Congo Square through
the August Wilson New Play Initiative (AWNPI). 
The Master Comic by Aaron Todd Douglas
The Master Comic will be a satirical vehicle for
sparking dialogue about the implications of race, inter-race
politics, and contemporary definitions of success.
