COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND EDUCATION

CORE (Curriculum Objectives Residency Enrichment) is an in-school residency that integrates theatre and theatrical works by Black and BIPOC playwrights with academic units to supplement, reinforce, and enhance the students' understanding of key curriculum concepts.

Each CORE residency focuses on literary analysis and critique, historical background and context, reading comprehension, character development, community building and development, social emotional learning, and much more!
Each residency is customized to the desire of the school to best equip and enrich students.
Residency options include:
Residency Length: Quarter, Semester, Academic Year
Session Frequency: 1-4 times per week
Session Length: Full Class Period (may include multiple classes or class periods per school)
CAST (Congo After School Theatre) School Partner Program is a performance-based school residency that expands on the CORE Residency foundation and classroom partnership. Under the guidance on the Congo Square teaching artists, students engage with the works of Black and BIPOC playwrights in preparation for performance.
